Moto mishap

Yesterday on one of our jaunts on the moto, I decided to be clumsy once again. I hoped off the moto and basically smushed my leg up against the exhaust pipe. This is the result:

A nice big BURN hole in my leg. Well, burn circle I guess. I guess that is what I get for wearing shorts on a motorcycle.. Last night I was able to sleep only through the tactic of massive aloe vera and a rickshawed icepack tied around my leg. This only makes me more scared of future injuries on the gas milage wonder. hmm. Hopefully this will be our first and last mishap ..

And incase you wanted a close up of the nastilicious wound site, here ya go. Just in case you wanted to be even more grossed out.

Chris's b-day week

In our family, we tend to celebrate birthdays all week long. Gotta have birthday parties for both Chris's family and my family, and then you've gotta have the individual celebration! Chris got a special treat with the Tres Leches cake from the Delipan Mexican bakery..mmmmm....

I decided to surprise Chris and take him on a hike up to Timpanogos Caves..however the surprise was short lived since there are huge signs pointing the way (if you take the freeway route, which we did). But it was totally awesome!
Here is Chris taking the non-traditional way to the top..Sliding through the cracks... Even though the hike was constantly uphill the whole way to the Caves, it was definitely worth it. The view from the top was spectacular. Happy birthweek to Chris!!

"Happy Birthday slash Father's Day to You.."

And that is exactly how we sang the birthday song.. You might be wondering, "Wow, how often does Father's day and your Mom's birthday land on the same day." Well, every seven years to be precise..(not taking into account leap year, which totally skrews with my conception of time). So as you can see, Sunday was quite the day for the Kelly front. Instead of getting a present from each of the kids to each parent, we decided to do one big present and send them to the homestead in midway this weekend. Yay for amazing parents!

"El viejo" = old guy. (Which is what his friends at the car shop refered to him as after my Dad had them help with the 'rack on a rack' episode of putting a car top carrier on to an already shelled truck..). My Dad sure does love a good personalized license plate. Other beloved past and present plates of his include: HRNEWS, pwdrbmr, bmerama, cwbybmr, NEWSCO, TheWest, bluehvn, WnmTrbl, and my personal fave: tokolob. Poor Jake (my lil bro) always got asked, "What the heck is Tokolob?" as if it was one word (toe-ka-lawb).
We also played a really fun game involving icecream...(one of my favorite things...). I'm surprised I have never thought of playing this, but we did an ice cream taste testing game. We were given spoonfuls of unknown icecream and had to guess the flavor. . dang you butter pecan!
